Cervical & Lumbar Spondylosis Treatment

By Dr Heal Pain Cure Hospital

Cervical and Lumbar Spondylosis Treatment – Dr Rakesh H J, MBBS, FID, DAPT CMDR, IFM (USA), Dr Heal Pain Cure Hospital, Bengaluru

“It’s just age-related wear. You’ll have to live with it.” Many people with spondylosis hear this, and many are later told an operation is the only way out. Neither is usually true. Spondylosis is the natural wear of the discs and joints of the spine, and while the wear itself cannot be reversed, the pain and stiffness it causes can very often be treated without surgery. At Dr Heal Pain Cure Hospital in HSR Layout and Banashankari, our pain specialists treat both cervical (neck) and lumbar (lower back) spondylosis without steroids or surgery, so you can move comfortably again.

Don’t just live with it. Speak to a specialist today.

Open 24 hours at both branches. Bring your X-ray or MRI if you have one.

At a glance

  • Who it is for: people diagnosed with cervical or lumbar spondylosis, or with long-standing neck or lower back stiffness and ache.
  • Our approach: find which part of the worn spine is actually causing pain, since many changes on X-ray cause none, then treat that source.
  • Treatments: steroid-free regenerative injections (no steroids, painkillers or antibiotics), functional medicine, guided rehabilitation, and weight, diet and bone health support.
  • Where: HSR Layout and Banashankari, Bengaluru, both open 24 hours.

What is spondylosis?

With age, the discs between the vertebrae lose water and height, the small facet joints wear, and the body lays down extra bone at the edges, known as bone spurs. Together, these changes are called spondylosis. Almost everyone shows some of them on an X-ray after 40, and many people have no pain at all. When pain does come, it is usually from a worn joint, an irritated nerve or tight muscles trying to protect the spine. That is what we treat.

Why patients choose Dr Heal for spondylosis

  • We treat the pain source, not the X-ray. Many changes on a scan are harmless. We find the one that is actually causing your pain.
  • Surgery is the last resort. We start with treatments that help you avoid an operation, and if surgery is ever truly your best option, we tell you honestly.
  • Long-term thinking. Spondylosis is a long-term condition, so we focus on keeping you active and teaching you to manage flare-ups yourself.
  • Everything under one roof. Imaging support, laboratory tests and a 24/7 pharmacy are on site. See our facilities.
  • Open day and night. Both branches are open 24 hours, seven days a week. Meet our doctors.

Our non-surgical spondylosis treatments

Your plan depends on whether the neck, the lower back or both are affected, and on what is causing your pain. It may include:

Guided rehabilitation

Exercises to keep the spine mobile and strengthen the muscles that support it, along with posture, work and sleep advice. For the neck, start with the best pillow and sleeping position; for the whole spine, these daily habits for a healthy spine.

Steroid-free regenerative injections

When a worn facet joint, a degenerating disc or an irritated nerve is the main source of pain, our doctors may add a targeted injection. We use our own regenerative medicine prepared through Dr Heal Pharma, with no steroids, no painkillers and no antibiotics. Because spondylosis is long-term, this matters: it aims to support the body’s own repair rather than give short bursts of relief that can only be repeated a few times a year. Learn more about regenerative medicine. Been advised a steroid injection or nerve block elsewhere? Read what to know before a selective nerve root block or an epidural steroid injection.

Functional medicine for long-term control

Inflammation, blood sugar, bone health, sleep and stress all influence how much a worn spine hurts. Our functional medicine approach looks at these together, so flare-ups become less frequent without relying on tablets. Here is why painkillers are not the long-term answer.

Weight, diet and bone health

Extra weight adds load to the lower back, and diet affects inflammation. Our clinical nutrition team builds a plan around your usual meals.

Frequently asked questions

Can spondylosis be cured?

The age-related changes in the spine cannot be reversed, but the pain and stiffness they cause can usually be treated well. Many people go back to normal activities and only need occasional help during flare-ups.

Do I need surgery for spondylosis?

Most people do not. Surgery is usually considered only when nerves or the spinal cord are seriously compressed, weakness is getting worse, or pain stays disabling despite proper non-surgical treatment.

My X-ray shows spondylosis. Is that why I am in pain?

Not always. Spondylosis is very common on X-rays after 40, even in people without pain. Your doctor will examine you to find out whether the changes on your X-ray are really causing your symptoms.

Is exercise safe with spondylosis?

Yes, the right exercise is one of the best treatments. Some movements may need to be avoided during a flare-up, which is why we guide your programme step by step.

Do Dr Heal’s spondylosis injections contain steroids?

No. When an injection is part of your plan, it is a steroid-free regenerative injection prepared through Dr Heal Pharma, with no steroids, painkillers or antibiotics.

Should I wear a cervical collar or lumbar belt?

Only for short periods, if at all. Wearing a collar or belt for long can weaken the muscles that support your spine. Your doctor will tell you whether one is useful for you and for how long.

Where can I get spondylosis treatment without surgery in Bengaluru?

Dr Heal Pain Cure Hospital treats cervical and lumbar spondylosis without surgery at its HSR Layout and Banashankari branches. Both are open 24 hours. Call 07969288086 to book.
